The history of Contorno Brothers has distant origins, it was founded in 1916 by the brothers Antonino and Luciano Contorno, in the Sette Cannoli district of Palermo. Founded as a factory for the processing of tomatoes and calcium citrate (extracted from lemon juice widely used in the food sector), due to a terrible crisis in the Palermo citrus sector, the company was forced to diversify production, making the choice on tomato derivatives, such as concentrates and extract, as well as the famous caponatina of aubergines. Since then, the continuous search for innovation has led the company to launch new products and achieve important goals.
